The Role At Great Southern Grammar, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. We recognise the unique cultural, spiritual and educational needs of Indigenous students and are dedicated to providing the resources and support they need to thrive academically and personally. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing culturally relevant programs.Providing one-on-one mentoring and support to Indigenous students.Collaborating with staff to create an inclusive learning environment.Organising and leading cultural events and activities that celebrate Indigenous heritage.Advocating for the needs and interests of Indigenous students within the School.Taking on an appropriate support teaching role.This position commences in 2025 and is part-time at 0.6FTE.
The Person You must be passionate about Indigenous education to join our team. This pivotal role involves teaching, mentoring and supporting Indigenous students to help them navigate their education journey and achieve their full potential. You should have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories and contemporary issues, along with experience working with Indigenous communities of students. It is preferable that you identify as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person and hold registration with the Teachers Registration Board of WA.
