Your expert advice in relation to First Nations Engagement is paramount in this position. You will provide cultural insights and advice to teams undertaking strategic and operational planning processes within TMR whilst developing, maintaining and strengthening TMR's relationships with Key First Nations groups and relevant government stakeholders, statutory bodies and other external stakeholders.
This role is an identified role under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
ResponsibilitiesConduct research, monitor government decisions, develop options and provide recommendations on matters relevant to the First Nations Engagement team and Indigenous Strategy Unit.Drive the implementation of Cultural Heritage Management Agreements, including delivery of Cultural Heritage Inductions and awareness to TMR employees and contractors.Monitor key team deliverables and priorities as directed by the Executive Director (Strategic Initiatives) in relation to activities of the First Nations Engagement Team and manage any risks that may impact on delivery of outcomes.Ensure change management activities are undertaken to enable the promotion and adoption of First Nations Engagement key priorities within the department. Mandatory Qualifications and ConditionsUnder section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.Queensland Drivers licence required for the role as intrastate travel will be required.
