The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.The project scope includes:500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sitesWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Indigenous Participation Advisor to join our team, reporting to the Social Impact Manager to support the delivery of the Copperstring 2032 project. In this role, you will drive our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous peoples, businesses and communities through inclusive procurement, employment and training initiatives.What will a day in this role look like:Contribute to the development and implementation of Indigenous participation strategies to foster employment, training, and business opportunities.Collaborate with internal teams, including Procurement, HR, project managers, construction team and community engagement.Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, organisations and service providers.Work closely with the procurement team to identify suitable Indigenous businesses to engage with.Work with the HR team on recruitment and workforce development initiatives to support Indigenous participation.Increase the level of cultural awareness through coaching, training and project events.Work with external partners, including government agencies and training providers, to support Indigenous workforce development.Ensure compliance with relevant Indigenous engagement frameworks and agreements.Monitor, create reports, advise on Indigenous participation outcomes and initiatives.Based in Brisbane, travel to the project region will be required regularly to ensure Indigenous participation deliverables are achieved.The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role.
