Triple P International is responsible for thedissemination of the Triple P Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), anevidence-based multi-level family intervention program.
This award-winningprogram promotes the independence and health of families by enhancing parents'knowledge, skills and confidence and is based on decades of research andclinical trials.
As acontractor the role will provide the opportunity to work flexibly during schoolterms with training being delivered in person and online.
Some travel may berequired, including the possibility to travel to remote communities which mayinclude outside of hours or weekend travel, with advance notice and supportprovided.
The Role The Trainerwill work with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners acrossAustralia to train and accredit practitioners in our Indigenous programs (onlineor in-person).
Duties will include:
· Delivery of activeskills training programs, 1-4 days duration (plus travel as required)
· Training withnewly developed programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
· Delivery ofone day workshops to help prepare participants for their accreditation
· Assessparticipants' parent consultation skills through an accreditation process
· Delivery ofclinical support days on specific implementation topics
· Attend nationaltraining team meetings for professional development and support
· Workingwith our Indigenous Implementation Consultants and Cultural Consultant
The Person To be considered for this rolethe following criteria is required or desired:
Required · To perform this role, it is essential that theperson who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanderperson.
It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 ofthe Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal orTorres Strait Islander.
· Comprehensive understanding ofthe history, and the effects that impact contemporary Aboriginal and TorresStrait Islander people and how it relates to parenting today
· Experience working with Aboriginal and TorresStrait Islander organisations
· Effective communication and interpersonal skillsfor building relationships
· Availability for a minimum of 4 consecutive days amonth
· A degree or post-graduate degree in psychology(e.g., Masters, PhD), preferably clinical or educational (or related field) orrelated equivalent experience
· Experience in group training facilitation and/orteaching as it relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways oflearning
· Experience providing constructive feedback in apositive, non-judgmental way
