POSITION OVERVIEW The Senior Stormwater Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering high-profile water resources projects. This position will shape innovative solutions in stormwater management while leading and mentoring a team. You will oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet client expectations and industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Project Design and Delivery Develop and manage the design of water resources projects, including flood studies, infrastructure upgrades and water quality initiatives Oversee the project lifecycle from concept to completion ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets Ensure all project designs meet client requirements and regulatory standards Project Management Manage all aspects of project delivery ensuring successful outcomes on time and within budget Identify and address project risks proactively to minimise impact Conduct regular progress reviews and adjust plans as needed to ensure project success Team Leadership and Development Mentor and guide a team of engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation Set performance goals and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth Promote continuous learning and skills development within the team Client and Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal teams, clients and external authorities to ensure project objectives are met Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to secure future opportunities Represent the organisation at client meetings and industry events, showcasing technical expertise and project successes Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations and quality expectations Monitor quality assurance processes and implement improvements as needed Stay updated on industry advancements and incorporate best practices into project execution Technical Expertise Provide technical leadership and innovative solutions to complex stormwater engineering challenges Conduct technical reviews and provide expert input on project deliverables Utilise advanced tools and methodologies to optimise project outcomes Business Development Support the growth of the business unit by identifying new opportunities and maintaining client relationships Contribute to the preparation of proposals and the bidding process for new projects Collaborate with leadership to align projects with organisational growth strategies MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must hold a University/ tertiary degree or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia is essential Obtained, or actively seeking Chartered Engineer status essential Minimum 5 years' experience practising in a relevant engineering field essential Knowledge of WHS Acts/Legislation (desirable) Knowledge of Environment Legislation (desirable) APPLICATION QUESTIONS Are you legally entitled to work in Australia?
