Whether you are a commercial/R&D/production agronomist or working on a family/corporate farm in the horticulture industry, this is an opportunity to transition into a fully Independent agronomy business, servicing growers holistically without the agchem/fertiliser 'monkey on your back'. It is an opportunity for you to get up close and personal with the growers and become a crucial element in their business, providing opportunity and options to help them improve their production in an economic and sustainable way. This position will provide you the ability to create the change you feel is needed, and contribute to the on-going improvement of the local farming systems.
Who will you work for?
This business started when an agronomist who had been working for a retail business decided that their passion was in providing quality agronomic advice direct to farming businesses. The business has since grown to service avocado, macadamia and table/wine grape growers across Australia. They are leading the way in agronomy consultancy services, and are driven to offer a supportive, informative and no-nonsense service.
The role itself?

Working from a home office and engaging with the community as required. Liaising with key industry stakeholders to stay up to date with new technologies. Collecting, analysing and interpreting data. Supporting, maintaining and improving current client relationships. Progressing and developing the reach of the business. Promoting the company's service offering. Learning and growing into the technology aspect of Avocado and Macadamia production including utilising Drone technology, ground truthing and analysis to assess systems and practicality. What kind of person will fit the role?
It is vital that you have tertiary qualifications in agricultural science and/or agronomy. It is important that you have at least 3 years experience as a horticultural agronomist in Australia or New Zealand. We are going to employ a person that has a proven ability to establish, maintain and develop relationships that will lead to the on-going improvement of the business. A happy and positive demeanour will add merit along with a proven ability to communicate the science clearly to the grower.
How will you be rewarded?
You will be rewarded for your contributions to the business with an attractive salary (proportionate to your experience and skill set), 9.5% superannuation, full use of a company vehicle and access to all home office equipment.
