About this role We are looking for an Independence Officer to join our Risk and Quality team in Sydney. You will be the point of contact for general inquiries about relationship checks, independence system, and independence letters. You will also liaise with global Grant Thornton member firms, collate data, conduct family tree research, and perform data entry tasks.
You will report to the Independence Manager and work closely with the Independence Partner and other team members. You will also have the opportunity to learn from the best practices and standards of our global network.
Key responsibilities Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders regarding independence mattersPerform relationship checks using the global independence system and other sourcesPrepare and issue independence letters to clients and third partiesAssist with data entry, data validation, and data analysis tasksConduct research on corporate structures and family treesSupport the Independence Manager and Partner with ad hoc projects and tasks Skills & experience Previous experience in a similar role or in an accounting, audit, or risk functionStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment\If you're interested in this role but don't feel that you match every single one of our requirements, we would still love to hear from you and explore the unique skillset and attributes that you can bring to the team.
