About the role: This role works in the Medical Indemnity Product team and supports other key functions in the Medical Indemnity business, working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Member Engagement and Avant Law teams.
A strong foundation in policy and process knowledge and understanding is required. This role will liaise closely with the claims acceptance team and the Product Manager to identify if and how claims are indemnified. This also may include reviewing process improvements and documenting key processes and guidelines for member facing teams.
Key accountabilities: Work directly with the Medical Indemnity insurance Product Manager to determine coverage intention with matters that come through the claims acceptance teamSupport the Claims Acceptance Team Leader with training on general decisions and complex matters as referred to teamDocument processes on decisions to ensure that all indemnity reviews and decisions are consistent and transparentIdentify and role out training for member facing teams to assist in managing claims through the claims acceptance teamWork with the Operations function within Medical Indemnity and the Member Solutions teams to identify efficienciesIdentify opportunities for product and coverage enhancement through the assistance of the claims teams e.g. understand common questions, pain points, declined claims etc. to drive process improvement Key skills required to perform the role: Previous experience in insurance ideally product or claimsUnderstanding of product and how policy wording is constructedAttention to detail and curios mindsetExperience in identifying process improvement opportunitiesAbility to document processes (and enjoy doing this!)Strong relationship and interpersonal skillsAt Avant, our people are at the centre of everything we do for our members.
