An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inclusive Learning Teacher to join our energetic staff at The Knox School. This role offers flexibility and could be offered as a full-time position or potentially as two part-time roles, depending on the qualifications and availability of applicants. This role as an Inclusive Education Support Teacher at TKS is to provide high quality learning support across our Senior School (Years 7-12). The teacher is accountable for student support, recognition of individual student learning styles and assistance with modifications and adjustments to learning and assessment programs.

About the role: Work closely with the Head of Personalised Learning- Diversity and Inclusion as well as collaborating with the Inclusive Education Support Teacher in Junior School, delivering holistic learning support for appropriate students at TKS.Provide individual and small group instruction (may include promoting literacy/numeracy/executive functioning skills - point of need) under the guidance of the Head of Personalised Learning – Diversity and Inclusion, in collaboration with Heads of Schools, Heads of Departments and classroom teachers.Foster an inclusive, stimulating and engaging learning environment, where all students feel valued and respected.Utilise both external and internal data, alongside education assessments, to identify students' needs and monitor their progress to inform ongoing and future strategies.Assist in the development of individual learning plans (ILPs) for neurodiverse students and those with disabilities who have specific learning needs.Conduct parent/guardian meetings including SSGs to discuss student support and ILPs, fostering a collaborative partnership to support student learning.Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a holistic and supportive learning environment for all students.Work in partnership with external professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists and psychologists to support students' overall development.Commit to personal professional learning and continuous improvement by engaging in ongoing professional development and latest research in best teaching practice.Support the Head of Personalised Learning- Inclusion and diversity by collecting, monitoring and analysing NCCD and Special Provisions for appropriate year 7 – year 12 students.Assist in upskilling staff in evidence-based inclusive practices and build capacity in this area.About you: You are passionate about education, learning, the growth and development of individual students and care about their wellbeing. Experience in implementing, monitoring and analysing evidence-based interventions either in Primary or Secondary school will also be considered.Holds a current VIT registration.Understands and has experience in the NCCD-process collection, reporting and analysis of data.Has experience in VCE Special Provisions.Understands literacy and numeracy development across various curriculum areas, reflecting best practice.Is proficient in utilising assessments and data to inform teaching practices.Has knowledge and understanding of the School's obligations in respect of Ministerial Order No. 1359, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, record keeping in relation to student safety and wellbeing, the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences (and any other information sharing and reporting obligations that may arise). Training will be provided.Has working knowledge of and is able to adhere to the School's policies and student safety practices, including those detailed in the Student Safety at The Knox School Handbook.Satisfactorily completes a values-based interview which will assess suitability to work with children and young people, and ensure that children and young people's rights are respected.Displays a supportive and respectful attitude to students and their families and builds positive connections with all members of the school community.Holds, or is prepared to obtain, a current Level 2 First Aid Qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training.
