Repurpose It exists to make premium quality repurposed materials accessible to everyone. Our mission is to eliminate waste and pollution through closed loop resource recovery and we believe that closed loop waste systems are essential if we are to preserve our resources for the next generations. We recover resources and give them new life via Construction and Demolition, Excavation and Drilling, Road and Rail, Infrastructure Projects, Local Councils, Food and Organics, Construction and Landscaping materials.
About the Role This newly created position of In-House Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and support to the business across a wide range of commercial issues. Partnering with stakeholders across the organisation, this position will be responsible for:
Providing accurate and timely legal advice to Repurpose It across corporate, commercial and employment law matters, as well as regulatory compliance issuesDrafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, and monitor the performance of theseProviding advice on the legal implications of business decisions and proposed strategiesSupporting the preparation and submissions of company secretarial documentationOverseeing the development and implementation of governance frameworksDeveloping risk mitigation strategies and report to the Board on these mattersDeveloping and delivering training across the organisation on a range of legal mattersThis is a full-time, ongoing position based in Epping, with travel to our sites in Montrose and Hallam sites as required.
About you The following skills / licenses / experience are also required:
Law Degree (LLB) and Admission to practice in VictoriaProven experience in a mid or top-tier firm, with a strong background in corporate / commercial lawKnowledge of and experience in practicing employment law and regulatory compliance are desirable but not essentialExcellent negotiation and influencing skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervisionExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersA passion for sustainability and in furthering the circular economyWhy Repurpose It?
