An opportunity now exists for an experienced Employment / IR Lawyer to join their dedicated in-house legal team and provide crucial employment law advice to its members.About this role...Working alongside other employment lawyers, including the Head of Legal, you will provide quality legal advisory and advocacy services across all aspects of employment law.As such, your primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Advice to members (telephone and email) on a wide range of employment law matters such as termination of employment, EEO, discrimination, WHS and award interpretationResearch and prepare draft submissions to Parliament and Regulators on a range of Federal and State Government issuesContribute to Industrial Relations projects and initiativesParticipate in conciliation and/or mediation conferencesManage litigated matters (e.g. before Fair Work Commission)Write articles on relevant subject matterAttend industry eventsAbout you...The ideal candidate will have:3+ years post admission experience in employment law at a law firm, an industry association or other in-house roleExperience in Employment/IR LawInterest in high level legislative mattersUnrestricted current practising certificate (or ability to obtain one)Excellent negotiation / influencing / drafting skillsGood communication and presentation skillsAbility to embrace opportunities for change and facilitate new ways of workingWhat's on offer...In return our client offers a friendly and supportive work culture, attractive remuneration PLUS the advantages of working close to home, part time 4 days a week (one of these days from home if you wish!)
