The Firm.

Approach Consulting have partnered with a market-leading construction firm known for its innovative and high-quality residential and commercial developments nationally. The firm is looking to bolster their commercial capability internally, seeking an experienced construction lawyer to join their high-performing team in house.


The Opportunity.

As a highly motivated construction focused In-House Counsel, this role offers a unique opportunity to provide strategic legal, commercial and contract advice/support across a wide range of construction projects. You will work closely with senior management and various departments to ensure that all legal aspects of projects are handled efficiently and effectively.


Key Responsibilities. Provide comprehensive legal and commercial advice on property development matters, including acquisitions, planning, construction, and sales.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to property transactions.Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Manage legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.Liaise with external legal counsel, government agencies, and regulatory bodies as needed.Support the resolution of disputes and manage litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings.Conduct due diligence and manage the legal aspects of property acquisitions and disposals.Stay updated on legal developments and changes in property law and advise the company accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills. A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized university.Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in construction and property law. In-house developer experience highly valuedExcellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.High level of professionalism and integrity.
