They are looking to hire for the newly created position of General Manager Commercial in their Sydney head office. This function will work with a group of industry-leading managers across different business disciplines to help the company achieve its ambitious plans. This company has an existing portfolio of operational and under-construction assets and enjoys a very solid financial base.Reporting directly to the CFO and financial advisers in coordinating and managing the project financing of development projects, responsibilities will include:Development, oversight, and management of project financial models in conjunction with financial advisers.Commercial development of debt and equity financing structure.Managing debt, equity, and government funding processes (alongside advisors as appropriate).Working with the CFO and the development team on project development activities from a commercial perspective, your responsibilities will include:Offtake development and negotiation.Assisting in commercial negotiations with project counterparties (e.g., EPC, grid connection, long-term O&M contracts, asset management, landowners, etc.).Assisting the CEO, CFO, and GM of Business Development & Construction in new project identification and portfolio development:Organic development opportunities.M&A opportunities.Company initiatives with the existing portfolio.RequirementsA solid understanding of the renewable energy universe in Australia gained through hands-on work experience; the successful candidate should be able to offer a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.Passion and energy to grow with this rapidly expanding dynamic business.Corporate/debt (infrastructure) finance background and a demonstrated track record of "getting things done."Prior experience of financing large-scale transactions such as Renewable Energy projects – Solar, Wind, Hydro, or Battery storage.First-class communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders is essential.Strong analytical background, financial analysis skills, and a tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.This company operates a flexible hybrid working model and has a good work-life balance.
