IN HOME EDUCATOR – JAN/FEB 2025 (Term 1) We are looking for some help during the start of the school year in 2025. Short or long term it doesn't matter – if you are wanting to settle down for a couple of weeks or the whole year in a fabulous area we would love to hear from you!
We will have two boys in the school room next year (Prep & Grade 2), an almost 3 year old and a newborn so an extra set of hands during this busy transition period would be amazing! We are yet to employ a governess for next year but will ideally have someone on board (unless that is you of course). I would really just love someone here who has had some experience in the schoolroom and can provide stability, support, direction and advice on how to start the school year off in the best way. That will take the pressure off me as Mum and the current teacher and allow us to get settled and used to our new normal – that's the plan anyway!
A BIT ABOUT US:
We are a family of 5 who live on a sheep and cattle property located two hours west of Quilpie and 45min East of Windorah in SW Qld. We are well serviced by a twice weekly mail run and only have 15km of excellent dirt road so we are very easy to travel to. We love to get out and work together as a family on the property during busy times like shearing, mustering, branding etc and if you are that way inclined then you are more than welcome to join in the fun. We are friendly, welcoming and will do all we can to make this work for both you and for us. We are flexible on all fronts so please reach out to chat. We may have a position for a partner dependent on their skills and desires for involvement in the greater business.
SCHOOL INFO:
Our kids do school through Charleville School of Distance Education which provides excellent online support and guidance. Ned will be in Prep and I know it is such a big jump so I'm acutely aware of needing someone in the schoolroom early on in the year to sit with him. Mack will be in Grade 2 and is quite independent with his learning at the moment though still needs guidance of course. The schoolroom is near our home, well resourced, spacious and airconditioned. Ideally I would love someone who has excellent organisation skills, likes routine and can work independently to support the kids.
Our boys are capable, kind, friendly, love a new face and genuinely love learning so I'm confident they would make your time here enjoyable. The kids like to play, explore, ride motorbikes/bikes, build lego, craft, read and are quite independent.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS:
We have several options for you and are willing to discuss what might work best. There are shearers quarters away from the house, a cottage (possibly share with governess) and lots of room to set up your caravan if you have one. Depending on where you are there is internet and mobile reception available. We are right on a creek with waterfront views from many locations so it is a pretty special spot.
THE AREA:
We have a good local community with lots of events on throughout the year (rodeo, campdraft, gymkhana, show, balls, school events etc) especially in the cooler months. We are on the way to Birdsville, Big Red Bash and are close to all that SW Qld has to offer.
Join us to experience all the adventure and fun of living and working on a station! I would truly love to hear from you if at all interested in this short or longterm role as any help we can get during this busy time would be incredible. If you were able to fill a longterm role, an attractive remuneration package would be discussed.
Please give me a call on 0417741337 or email ****** if you'd like to chat further. I look forward to speaking with you!
