Import Officer

BROAD SCOPE:
Support the Import/Export Part Leader with all functions related to import and export operations, daily reporting, FIS Updating and maintaining, and general administrative duties to support the client and the 3PL.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inbound daily reportingTrack and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.Communicating with trucking companies, shipping lines, customers and other M&S offices.Manage the import process by coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and other relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.Prepare and review shipping and customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and Electronic Delivery OrdersEnsure compliance with import-export laws and regulations by staying updated on changes in customs requirements and assisting with customs clearance procedures.Assist in preparing import and export documentation for audits and compliance checks when required.Maintain accurate import and export records, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs declarations.Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to customers and suppliers.Coordinate with customs broker to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance lodgement, and payment of import duties, taxes, and freight charges.Assist in managing carrier invoices, ensuring EDO is received on time, and correct amounts are invoiced, and resolving any discrepancies.Support the Import Export Manager in various administrative tasks.REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of customs regulations, import-export laws, and international shipping proceduresExcel SkillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing documentationExcellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet tight deadlinesAnalytical mindset to identify and resolve problems or inefficiencies in import-export operationsFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure2 Years of experienceQUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or related fieldJob Type: Full-time
