About Infectious Diseases & Immunology Department: The Infectious Diseases & Immunology Department at Austin Health is a busy Unit providing both in-and out-patient services.
It is staffed by the Director supported by a team of SMS, junior medical, nursing staff and medical scientists.
The department prides itself in the level of teaching and clinical research activity supported within the department.
The Infectious Diseases & Immunology Dept sits within The Medical & Cancer Services Division, part of the Chief Operating Directorate.
About the role This is a senior Medical Position and carries with it the professional responsibilities of clinical leadership, teaching and training as well as administrative requirements.
The position reports to the Director of Infectious Diseases & Immunology.
A regular day will see you:
Provide comprehensive management of inpatient and outpatients.Participate in Unit meetings and activities.Provide an on-call service as required.Provide a consultative service to other Units as required.Supervise trainees and junior medical staff.About you As the Immunologist, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
You'll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
Must be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Immunology (or be in a supervised training position within the RACP Overseas Trained Physician Program, having completed equivalent training in a suitable non-Australian training program that has been approved by the RACP OTP).Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of immunology.
