The Paralegal will assist in case processing (reviewing and preparing forms, advice emails, support letters, and Firm correspondence) and assist in the maintenance of case files within the team. They will work closely to support a Solicitor in their casework, with some limited client-facing responsibility.
Duties include: Support Solicitors with the progression of cases Draft applications Prepare detailed initial advice to clients as directed by Solicitors Prepare and file applications with government agencies Prepare files for billing, check trust payments, prepare client engagement letters Conduct legal research Maintain client contact information Provide simple status updates File documents in proper order / create and maintain electronic and paper files Extract data accurately Responsible for pre-invoice notes and updating the case management system Contribute to the Firm's overall initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Display professionalism, quality service, and a can-do attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm, as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone, and in person. Time record accurately Requirements: 1 year experience working within immigration Understanding of immigration application filing systems with the ability to meet assigned deadlines and have a high level of productivity Demonstrates attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing demands Works well as part of a team to ensure productivity and good communication Delegates clearly and effectively to junior team members Works with all team members in a clear, articulate, and professional manner Can follow the instructions of senior members of staff Develops strong working relationships with team members and gains their confidence through displaying professionalism and efficiency in all communications Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in written communications with their team Assists in the development and support of colleagues when required Strong numeracy skills Legal research skills Salary for the role is between £25,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience.
