Position Summary: The Immigration Clerk position will partner with immigration attorneys/paralegals to assist with all administrative aspects of immigration cases. Candidate should be fluent in English and be able to work overtime as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities: Initiates immigration cases and ensures all documents are provided within assigned deadlines. Drafts various elements of Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) and Immigrant Visa (IV) cases, including cover/support letters, immigration forms, and supporting documents. Identifies issues during case production and escalates as needed. Reviews drafted work for accuracy. Conducts necessary data entry, including uploading documents received from clients and entering client details in case and document management systems. Assists with overflow work and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills & Competencies: Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation. High attention to detail, outstanding organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Ability to work independently toward team goals. Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands. Qualifications & Prior Experience: University/College degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 1 year experience in a law firm/office environment. Familiarity with immigration law/processes preferred. Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications preferred.
