We have an exciting opportunity for a technically and/or commercially astute superstar to take on this dual Account Manager / Principal Manager role.
About the role
Reporting to the ANZ Business Unit Manager, this role will see the successful candidate in promoting and selling speciality chemicals/additives, as well as becoming the subject matter expert and 'go-to' person for the assigned product portfolio, offering support to customers and colleagues regarding product application, technical troubleshooting and commercial terms.
This will involve:
Maintaining relationships with existing clients as well as identifying and on-boarding new prospects.
Understanding customer needs and problems, offering solutions, organising samples and staying on top of project progress.
Working in partnership with customers to develop plans for their next generation products, presenting new products that offer them a technical or competitive advantage, and becoming their supplier of choice.
Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
Reporting to Principals (suppliers) regularly regarding sales and development projects.
Understanding the principals' goals for the products you manage, maintaining regular communication and being the conduit of technical information to the rest of the Sales Team.
Developing a growth strategy focused on both financial gain and customer satisfaction.
Stock management: forecasting, purchasing and inventory management of designated products.
About you
Qualification: Tertiary Qualification in the relevant field (e.g.
Chemistry, Cement Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) or extensive experience in the industry.
Experience: Prior experience in a similar role within industries such as Coatings, Construction, Cement, Adhesives, Printing or Packaging is essential.
Time within manufacturing would be desirable, but not a must.
Technical Knowledge: You will have the technical knowledge required to understand customer requirements such as the formulation and application of resins, coatings, construction chemicals, adhesives, sealants and other related raw materials.
Computer Systems: You will have medium to high proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems.
Familiarity with Salesforce would put you a step above the rest, but not required.
Well-developed communication skills: You will be communicating and building relationships across all levels within and outside IMCD.
