The Opportunity Goal Group specialises in ILS and Logistics capabilities for Defence acquisition and sustainment programs. We have an opportunity for a Defence experienced ILSM to join our team in Melbourne, supporting our Defence client in the acquisition phase of a program. This position will provide specialist materiel logistics knowledge and expertise in support of system replacement, platform integration or modernisation activities. It will be responsible for undertaking logistics analysis, developing technical documentation, and performing a broad range of Supply Support management activities. Extensive stakeholder engagement across complex issues, leadership and mentorship will be involved in this role.
In this role you will conduct and lead key Defence Logistics management functions, including the establishment of Unit Entitlements, Supply Customer Account (SCA) management, Bill of Materials (BOM) and Complete Equipment Schedules (CES) management, and updates to the MILIS 600 Equipment Register and nameplate records to reflect physical fitment or modifications.
Lead logistics support activities for Projects transitioning into service, including calculation and procurement of initial provisioning, preparing Installation Kits, contributing to engineering Technical Certification activities and adjusting entitlements.
Coordinate and support core supply chain and inventory management activities, including procurements, and movement of stock.
Development and updates to plans, documents and technical instructions such as the ILS Management Plan, Obsolescence Management Plans, and technical data packs and manuals in support of roll-out/installations and transition.
Undertake or facilitate the necessary logistics and in-service engagement with other DLMs, Stock Item Owners, SPOs, JLU, and Defence organisations.
Undertake or provide support to the codification and cataloguing of Not-in-Catalogue (NIC) items to support integration and in-service requirements, and in compliance with Defence logistics policy.
Manage inventory and associated Logistics Information Systems, and conduct governance and assurance functions to ensure that their use is in accordance with the relevant policy and processes.
About you As an ideal candidate, you will have:
Current/recent ILSM experience in the Australian Defence industry, preferably on a Defence Acquisition project; Experience in supply chain or Supply Support, including inventory management and through life support to capability. Knowledge of the methodology, systems and procedures within the logistics management function within Defence. Knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC). Knowledge and experience with inventory management and Logistics Information Systems, including Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS), and/or Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) /Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Experience in codification and cataloguing of Items of Supply (IoS) would be advantageous. Cryptographic equipment logistics handling experience would be highly desirable.
