In Australia, we operate a select, highly skilled, internationally diverse engineering team, providing engineering and design advisory services to Australia's naval programs, and maritime autonomy system development.
Our team holds expertise across naval architecture, marine engineering, systems engineering, integrated logistics support, engineering consulting and acquisition program management.

We are seeking candidates who ideally can demonstrate a strong operational engineering skill set as well as a design background with a focus on design for manufacture.

The position will include the following responsibilities: Publication Management: Overseeing the development, maintenance, and distribution of technical publications related to maritime systems.
This includes manuals, guides, procedures, and other documentation essential for the operation, maintenance, and repair of maritime equipment.
Training Program Development: Designing, implementing, and managing training programs.
This involves identifying training needs, developing curriculum content, coordinating training delivery, and evaluating training effectiveness to ensure competency and proficiency among personnel operating and maintaining maritime systems.
ILS Integration: Integrating publications and training requirements into the broader framework of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineering.
This includes aligning publications and training activities with other ILS elements such as maintenance planning, supply support, and technical data management to optimise system supportability and readiness.
Technical Writing: Collaborating with subject matter experts to create clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
Publication Configuration Management: Establishing and maintaining configuration management processes for publications to ensure version control, accuracy, and compliance with contractual requirements and regulatory standards.
This includes managing changes, updates, and revisions to publications throughout their lifecycle.
Performance Evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating the performance of publications and training programs to assess their effectiveness in meeting operational requirements and achieving desired learning outcomes.
This may involve collecting feedback, conducting assessments, and implementing improvements based on lessons learned and best practices.
Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, end-users, training providers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure alignment between publications, training programs, and operational needs.
This may involve participating in meetings, workshops, and reviews to address feedback and resolve issues proactively.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and contractual obligations governing publications and training activities.
This includes conducting quality assurance checks, audits, and reviews to uphold standards of accuracy, completeness, and usability in technical documentation and training materials.
Qualifications This is a creative, fast-paced project which requires the right mindset.
We are seeking candidates with the following attributes: Critical Attributes Delivery Experience – Qualified ILS practitioner with strong knowledge, experience, and expertise in maritime programs.
Naval or marine experience is strongly preferred Collaborative – able to quickly establish productive and positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders who have different approaches, interests and styles Strong communicator – ability to engage with stakeholders and explain complex issues concisely.
Clear and accurate writer Accountable – keeps commitments, adapts to challenges to maintain progress, openly addresses errors and shortfalls Positive Outlook – A positive, solution-orientated attitude, supportive of other team members and stakeholders, criticism is constructive and builds the work and the team forward Desirable Attributes Knowledge and experience of modern naval ILS documentation practice Experience developing, reviewing and managing contractual requirements, project plans and business processes Skills and knowledge in other ILS disciplines is an advantage Additional Information Location: we operate a nationally-distributed team.
The project is centred around our Newcastle, Canberra and East Melbourne teams / locations.
All east-coast mainland locations will be considered, but a moderate amount of domestic travel should be expected as part of the role.
