The internal job title for this role is IKEA Food Co-worker. As we operate 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts (from 7:30am to 9:30pm).
You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday consecutively). Recruitment Process and Key Dates We require adequate availability, without holidays booked, during the peak trading period (from mid-October to March) for these positions. If your application is successful, you may be invited to complete a video screening interview as part of the recruitment process. If your application is progressed, you will be invited to attend an in-person interview with the hiring team. About this work area As an IKEA Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with food standards by keeping it clean and organised. Food preparation and cooking with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods. Inspecting food items for quality freshness. Serving Hot & Cold food for our Customer and Co-worker restaurant. Prioritising strict cooking timelines and multi-tasking under pressure during rush hours. Operation of ovens and equipment to cook and prepare our hot meals. Processing dishes and maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the Customer and Co-worker Restaurants. As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you are or have:
Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation. Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment.
Previous hospitality and cookery experience is highly regarded. Be self-reliant and motivated, ready to work independently and as part of our team. Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks. Previous commercial cooking experience is highly valued. We need people like you At IKEA, work is so much more than a job.
