Primary objective: Provide high level advice and support to senior management and client agencies on the identification, validation, planning, and development of business requirements for offence and Australian New Zealand Standard Offence Classification (ANZSOC) codes within the department's primary business information system, i.e. Integrated Justice Information System (IJIS).
Key duties and responsibilitiesProvide high level support to all Government agencies and Local Government Councils that issue infringements.Provide timely and accurate updating and maintenance of offence codes and statistical information within the business application. Analyse offence code processes and develop recommendations for improvement.Undertake the planning, development and delivery of efficient and effective offence code enhancements and changes within the business information system, liaising with Departmental Legal Policy for upcoming legislation.Set and manage standards for agencies with the knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations to follow to arrive at an appropriate coding and description.Liaise with business information system users and stakeholders to identify, analyse and document system changes, and to communicate these requirements to the systems analysis and programming teams. Participate in the planning, documenting, testing, implementation, and training of agency requests relating to maintenance and enhancements of the business application.Selection criteriaEssentialOperational knowledge and understanding of legislative provisions and procedures, within the legal and court environments, or the ability to acquire such knowledge.Working knowledge of Australian standards in classifying criminal behaviour to produce crime and justice statistics reporting.High level of self-management, motivation, and integrity with a proven capacity to manage pressure, work on concurrent projects and meet critical deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.Highly developed written and oral skills to communicate effectively with a diverse range of client and staff including technical teams.Well-developed systems analysis and administration skills to identify and create user requirements and document system change.Demonstrated ability to support large and complex information systems, stakeholders, and information.Demonstrated work ethic and attitude that emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and respectful.DesirableApplied knowledge and understanding of processes relating to Court Registry work or the Fines Recovery Unit and their service delivery mechanisms.Relevant tertiary qualifications and a commitment to continuous learning.Further information: The selected applicant must consent to a criminal history check.
