Position: Technical Fire Safety Lead - Associate level
Location: Sydney/Melbourne/Gold Coast.
Melbourne and Gold Coast based candidates will fly to Sydney regularly.

Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time (flexible arrangements available).
Hybrid work available (2-3 days in the office).

Package: AUD 150k - 200k as a base salary based on experience, and performance-based bonuses
Role Overview:
The Technical Fire Safety Lead will be an integral part of the team, providing technical support and contributing to project delivery.
This associate level role focuses on quality assurance (QA) and technical review rather than client management or sales type of work.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety engineering and a passion for ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

This role involves close collaboration with both the Sydney and Melbourne teams.
While based in Gold Coast, the successful candidate will support Melbourne & Sydney operations and may need to travel occasionally for team bonding and project oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & QA:
Understand trends and best practices in the fire safety engineering discipline.
Provide technical support and guidance to the team, focusing on ensuring high-quality output.
Oversee and refine QA processes, procedures, and reports to maintain and improve technical standards.
Assist with the management tenders and proposals.
Analyze and design holistic fire safety systems for structures and buildings in accordance with building code and design standards.
Prepare fire safety calculations and coordinate the delivery of fire safety engineering reports.
Write reports, letters, project narratives etc.
for internal and external purposes based on findings.
Attend design meetings (office and site based) and communicate with clients to establish their needs and design aspects with them.
Carry out Quality Assurance checks of fire safety engineering assessments and reports as prepared by the company.
Project Support:
Contribute to small project delivery as needed, leveraging experience in fire safety design and site inspections.
Support team efficiency through developing and implementing technical policies and procedures.
Leadership:
Represent the company at international conferences, contribute to journals, publications and engage in industry discussions.
Participate in local Professional Associations to assist in building the Measure Brand and reputation amongst the industry.
Mentor and train the team on QA work, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Contribute to business development activities through both direct (i.e.
targeted) and indirect (i.e.
delivery of existing projects and relationship building) efforts.
Team & Process Development:
Work with the team to reduce report turnaround times and improve procedural efficiency.
Ensure team growth and long-term stability.
Provide mentorship and leadership to younger engineers and consultants.
Manage commercial performance on your projects and provide support for the fire safety engineering principal in the management of the wider team.
Plan and manage project resources and forecasting as required.
Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Systems on projects and general engineering documentation.
Qualifications required:
5-6+ years of good technical experience in fire safety engineering Strong QA focus with experience in technical reviews, report writing, and fire safety design.
Proven track record of contributing to team efficiency and quality improvement.
Ability to travel occasionally between Sydney and Melbourne.
Strong communication and mentoring skills.
