About the Opportunity The ICT Technical Officer will work closely with other Technical Officers, Service Desk Staff, ICT Team Leaders, Project Managers, internal stakeholders, vendors, and support partners.
You will provide technical services to the Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Council's information technology and communication systems.
This position will be based in Dalby, and will be full-time, fixed term until June 2025. You will be:
Maintaining, implementing, configuring, and administering the operations of WDRC Servers (both virtual and physical, new and current) including associated hardware peripherals and system diagnostics.Maintaining the integrity of system data, incorporating systems backups and recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery.Completing risk assessments, privacy impact assessments, vulnerability assessments, audits, on new and existing services, systems, or projects. Recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions to ensure projects and services operate within business risk tolerances.Ensuring the successful implementation, upgrading, and installation of server operating systems and hardware components in accordance with ITIL processes.About yourself Suitability for this position will be based on experience, application, achievement, and potential in the following critical competencies as they link to the key responsibilities for this position.
Proven/Demonstrated experience in:
Microsoft and/or VMWare certification or at least two years' experience administrating enterprise server platforms with specific skills and knowledge in the operation of Microsoft Domains in a dispersed network environment.Experience in Cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 (administration, mobile device management, powerapps).Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for identifying, defining, and solving technical and operational problems in an information technology support environment.Experience maintaining server technical infrastructure, including planning and implementing upgrade paths for these systems.This role is full-time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.
Mandatory vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
