What you'll do The ICT System and Security Architect is responsible for designing and securing ICT systems for both in-house operations and customer solutions.
This role must ensure that all systems meet rigorous security standards while supporting business and client needs.
The architect will develop end-to-end ICT infrastructure, focusing on aligning security measures with industry standard methodologies while collaborating with internal teams and external clients to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
The day-to-day Some key responsibilities of the ICT System and Security Architect are: Architectural Design and Development: Design and implement ICT architecture for both Via Sat and customer solutions.
Lead the development of secure network, storage, compute, and virtualisation environments to align with Australian Government doctrine (PSPF, ISM, etc).
Provide architectural guidance to internal teams and external partners to ensure systems align with business objectives and security standards.
Collaborate with IT and software development teams to integrate security controls within system architecture.
Security Authorisation and Compliance: Lead the security authorisation process for customer solutions, ensuring all architectures align with relevant industry and regulatory standards (PSPF, ISM, etc.).
Lead risk assessments and threat modelling, ensuring that security concerns are addressed in all phases of system development and throughout the life of the system.
What you'll need To be successful in this role, you will need: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
Certifications: ICT Architect certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
Experience with designing security-focused architectures for both on-premises and cloud environments.
Solid understanding of security frameworks (PSPF, ISM, DSPF, ISO27001, etc.) and experience with security audits and compliance management.
Must be an Australian citizen and have an active Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1) or have held one previously.
What will help you on the job ICT System and Security Architect should have: 5+ years of experience in ICT architecture and/or security engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with server, operating systems, virtualisation, and networking technologies.
Deep understanding of network security, secure software development, encryption technologies, and system hardening.
