Role Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations. 
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Responsibilities Supporting teaching and learning
Liaise with the executive leadership team on the implementation , monitoring and ongoing planning of ICT infrastructure and software programmes to support student learning across the College.  Support teaching and learning teams to create a diverse and flexible ICT platform that enhances opportunities and outcomes for students Asses software applications requested by staff, advise and make recommendations regarding technical mode of suitable delivery across school networks in line with Department Education policy and including that child safety standards are meet Assist with the creation and implementation of ICT related policy, prosses and procedures and advise on improving current practices. Disseminate information to users in clear and concise style and support users in learning systems and understanding their obligations.  Create and facilitate ICT related professional learning and induction to staff  Work closely with staff and school-aged students in providing basic assistance and instructions when required.  Provide ongoing support to staff and students in the use of ICT hardware and software.  Research and evaluate new or emerging technologies suitable for implementation in the school and liaise with the business manager.  Oversee and manage customer enquires  Lead and manage the IT technicians  Work with the Technical Support Schools Program technicians in the installation, maintenance, configuration, fault diagnosis and hardware problems relating to portable devices, workstations, servers and other infrastructure.  Design, prepare, document and report network performance usage and statistics . Manage and monitor a Tech Support Help Desk, operated by IT TSSP and support staff.  Manage the technical , organisation and deployment elements of a student BYOD (Bring your own device) program.  Perform maintenance and repair ICT infrastructure.  Engage service contractors where required  Manage user accounts with Network management software.  Distribute, maintain and trouble shoot faults faults of all software applications.  Provide recommendations to address concerns and make improvements , enhancements.  Oversee the procurement, maintenance and updating of of network devices.  Manage and CCTV video security systems and telephony (VOIP) across the school.  Provide direction and technical support in setting up annual , semester and trimester report on learning tasks on Compass.
