The Role:
Are you passionate about history and have a proven track record of teaching International Baccalaureate (IB) History with outstanding results?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced IB History Teacher to join the Humanities team in 2025.
Using your expertise, you will support students to develop critical analysis and inquiry skills essential for success in the IB program and beyond. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping students' understanding of historical events and global perspectives.
This is a full-time, 12-month opportunity commencing in Term 1, 2025.

The Average Day:Deliver engaging and rigorous lessons for the IB History curriculum.Design and implement assessments aligned with IB standards to track and support student progress.Encourage active participation, discussion, and inquiry to develop students' analytical and evaluation skills.Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes global citizenship.Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary approaches and uphold the IB philosophy.Actively contribute to the Carey community through participation in co-curricular activities, school events, and collaborative department projects.The Person:To be successful in this position, you will have:
Demonstrated success teaching IB History.Thorough understanding and enthusiasm for the IB approach to holistic education.Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.Values collaboration and thrives in a team-oriented environment.Brings creativity, innovation, and adaptability to their teaching approach.A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
