Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory is an export meat processing facility, based in the South Burnett Region and is ideally located just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. Staff discounts on a range of productsEmployee Wellbeing Benefits including discounts to 400+ retailersLearning and development opportunitiesThe opportunity Reporting to the Group Quality & Systems Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide specialised knowledge, professional judgement and influence in monitoring existing hygiene systems and developing and implementing activities and processes to ensure the highest level of hygiene & sanitation of the export & domestic and value-added processing facilities.
Ensure compliance to the hygiene operations onsite and ensure the contract cleaning company are working to their full capabilities and requirements.
Key accountabilities include: Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards hygiene requirements including DA and BRC standardsResponsible for performance aspects of the contract with the cleaning company, with input and assistance from manager.First point of contact for hygiene contractor in relation to all site related hygiene.Address any concerns raised by Safety Delegates and assist with risk assessments as needed.Working in conjunction with and assisting the safety department and department trainer with relevant updates / amendments to work instructions.Liaise with Department Managers and maintenance regarding maintenance needs to ensure safety standards.Chemical stock takes / levels assessed and re-arrange where necessary, the Chemical Shed to ensure pallet spaces for arriving chemical.Develop and maintain KPI track and report system in line with Quality requirements.Generate Maintenance Request (MEX) where a need is identified to meet statutory requirements and or Area and Department improvements.Assist and develop continuous improvement processes for the department and apply initiatives that promote and improve hygiene & sanitation within the business.Ability to acquire knowledge of all related Work Instructions and Chemical M.S.D.S.Communicate through toolbox meeting any issues and Supervise department staff to ensure all issues are dealt with in a timely manner;Provide ongoing feedback to the team including performance, guidance as well as notifying of any discipline if needed, in conjunction with the People & Culture team;Rostering and scheduling of staff to Operational constraints and allocation of employees to tasks on roster based on skills and rotational opportunities and need;Assist in monitoring absenteeism issues in the department;All other tasks as directed or needed in accordance with your roleImprove key sanitation processes to achieve positive hygiene requirements.Internal auditing and reporting with a view to a reduction of 'findings during the Pre-Operational Sanitation'The nature of the work and relationships requires flexibility and an ability to work towards broad team objectives.Working within our Core Values at all times and leading by example;Focus on continuous improvements and cost savings at all times;Carry out any other reasonable and lawful directions that may be given from time to time by the company;Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety, environment, food safety quality culture and welfare of our people.What we're looking for Swickers has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team.
