This is an opportunity to work with a renowned company known for its innovative approach to mining and environmental sustainability.About the RoleIn this role, you will be part of a highly skilled Hydrology team that delivers technical excellence in surface water management across all phases of mining projects—from concept to closure. You will play a key role in identifying and mitigating hydrologic risks, preparing flood management strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to mining studies (Conceptual through to Feasibility and Closure).Conduct annual flood risk assessments and assist in wet season management planning.Scope, undertake, and review hydrologic and hydraulic investigations.Develop and implement surface water management and mitigation plans.Provide expert technical advice to operations and key stakeholders on surface water issues.Manage consultants, review technical reports, and ensure adherence to organizational hydrology standards.Mentor and provide technical coaching to team members.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geography, or Environmental Science (postgraduate qualifications advantageous).Experience in flood estimation, surface water management, and hydraulic modelling using tools such as TUFLOW or RORB.Practical experience of 1D-2D hydraulic modelling and GIS tools with the ability to present complex technical assessments.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Strong technical report writing and presentation skills, particularly presenting to non-technical stakeholders.A commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and teamwork.6+ years of relevant industry experience.Manual C class driver's license.Desirable SkillsKnowledge of sedimentation management and sediment transport modelling.What's on OfferCompetitive hourly rate.Comprehensive medical benefits for you and your family.Career development support and educational assistance.Flexible work arrangements and paid parental leave.Access to discounts across accommodation, retail, and other services.Opportunities to work on diverse projects with a global leader in the resources sector.This role will be based in the Perth CBD with very occasional site visits when required.
