About the Role :
The role of the Hydraulic Divisional Manager will support the Head of Internal Services in the establishment of the Hydraulic Division as an expansion to our existing internal divisions of Project Management, Design, Site Management, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical and Partitioning.

The Hydraulic Divisional Manager is responsible for the management of the Hydraulic Division operations, delivery of projects and personnel in the most efficient, cost effective, safe and professional manner.

The position provides guidance, direction, and leadership in relation to various issues, risks, activities, general management, and project approach.

This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities :
Establishment of the Hydraulic Division
Strategy planning for the establishment of the new Hydraulic Division.
Assist with obtaining a company licence to contract and sub-contract plumbing and drainage work.
Develop of WHS documentation for the Hydraulic Division including a Safety Management Plan and site specific SWMS.
Engage and introduce Plumbing suppliers and subcontractors into the business.
Implementation of Plumbing design software and platforms.
Development of Quality Assurance documentation for the Hydraulic Division.
Acquisition of required Australian Standards for all Plumbing work and design compliance.
Build an estimating database for labour and material unit rates to be used for estimating all Plumbing projects.
Implement design template to be used for all Hydraulic Systems design drawings.
Assist in establishing divisional annual budget including determining internal resource needs.
Assist in development and implementation of divisional processes and procedures in accordance with QMS system requirements.
Management & Supervision
Strategy planning for the growth, development, and gross profit of the Hydraulic Department.
Initiate and drive divisional Budget in line with company goals and agreed margins.
Drive agreed divisional business strategies.
Drive and maintain operational performance of the division.
Conduct periodic departmental meetings, as required.
Participate in company new employee induction programs as the Hydraulic Department representative.
Provide monthly finance reporting to finance team.
Induct & train direct reports adequately into their roles.
Develop a scalability strategy to build up and reduce teams and resources according to Sheldon jobs.
Performance Management of direct reports in line with company goals and position descriptions including conducting performance reviews, mentoring, training, and development.
Liaise with HR / Senior Management in relation to employment matters of Hydraulic Resources / Team members.
Forecast resource requirements of the Division.
Management and effective operation of ERP.
Recruitment of Hydraulic Division employees and subcontractors in line with company recruitment procedures.
Provide mentoring, guidance, and motivation to drive maximum performance of the Sheldon Hydraulic Team - lead by example.
Attend Management Meetings to report on Hydraulic Division as required.
Monitor and ensure adherence to agreed and required processes, procedures, and policies applicable to the Hydraulic Department.
Project Management
Provide high level cost budgets and project estimates for all Plumbing work.
Develop Hydraulic Service design drawings & documentation including calculations, reports, & scope of works for all Plumbing projects.
Co-ordinate and manage the design preparation of D+C projects including attending sites, problem solving, scoping, Hydraulic System design and pricing works for all projects.
Implementation and sign off of site-specific Compliance Certificates.
Prepare profit and loss reports for each completed project.
Estimating at preliminary and final stages.
Prepare Variations for PM approval.
Raise and send purchase orders, generate invoices, sign off supplier and contractor invoices.
Manage hydraulic resources via master project board.
Interpret plans and provide final cost and quantities of materials needed.
Coordinate the supply of labour and materials.
Make sure that building regulations, standards and by-laws are enforced in building operations.
Create and track project schedules.
Ensure major procurement items are ordered on time to meet completion deadlines.
Track labour hours weekly against project budget allocation.
Attendance at project site, pre-start meetings and client presentations as required.
Work Health Safety
Oversee and drive Plumbing Safety requirements of the division as dictated in the company safety system.
Implementing a WHS system for the Hydraulic Division and Instil & Maintain WHS standards for all Plumbing work.
Understand and comply with PMP (Project Management Plan).
Complete regular site inspections to monitor review site safety.
About you :
Personal drive, initiative and resourcefulness, alongside excellent communications skills, are qualities we look for in the role.

We're looking for candidates with a can-do attitude, ability to problem solve and perform to timelines.

To be successful in this role you will need :
Bachelor's degree / Diploma / Trade Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services (Operations) or Trade Certificate III in Plumbing CPC32420 (completed before 1st of November 2024).
General Construction Certificate (White Card).
Plumbing Contractor Licence.
5+ years experience in commercial Hydraulic industry.
2 - 5 years experience in a similar role.
First Aid certificate.
Experience managing or implementing HSEQ requirements associated with Plumbing work.
Experience in identifying Plumbing and Hydraulic Systems in commercial buildings.
Estimating and Hydraulic design experience.
