Hvac Technician

Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities. In partnership with the Australia Defence Force, we are seeking a HVAC Technician to join us on a full-time basis at Puckapunyal defence base, located 10km west of Seymour.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the HVAC Service Technician/ Refrigeration Mechanic is primarily responsible for performing technical work on building services equipment, including refrigeration equipment. The HVAC Service Technician/Refrigeration Mechanic will also ensure that all work carried out meets Safety, Quality and Customer Standards and achieves the overall business plans and objectives.
In addition to the above, you will also be required to:

Display solid hands-on technical skills, developed through trade training and experience.
Display a solid understanding of air conditioning and refrigeration principles and systems and the relevant codes and industry standards which govern their installation and maintenance.
Effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems.
Proactively address customer complaints and demonstrate competence in establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients.
Observe quality and technical procedures, work instructions, and practices.
Ensure that technical procedures and inspection and test plans are performed in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements.

About you:

Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience
Certificate III in Electro-technology or equivalent trade qualification.
S permit (Restricted Electrical Licence) preferred
A solid understanding of air conditioning systems and the relevant codes and industry standards.
Good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
Ability to learn and use proprietary software necessary to support the position
Current Drivers Licence
Basic understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management System.
ARTIC Licence Assessment Certificate from TRE where required.

You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check.
