As the Refugee Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work as part of the Nurse-led Refugee Health team to provide evidence-based interventions appropriate to the needs of individuals. You will be undertaking health and social assessments of newly arrived refugee clients through home visits, advocacy, clinic appointments, and linking patients into other services as required. Your clinical expertise will assist the community, medical clinics, and the broader team.
We are looking for a compassionate nurse with the ability and preparedness to be flexible and adapt to changing role requirements with differing community needs of those being settled as humanitarian entrants. The position is supported by the Refugee Health team in Newcastle, and more broadly through the NSW Refugee Health Service.
Authorisation as a Nurse Immuniser, or current enrolment, is essential. Leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are essential. All aspects of Refugee Health, along with learning and training support will be provided.
Where you'll be working:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Armidale Refugee Health Team in providing a safe, compassionate, person-centred child and family health nursing model of care to vulnerable families, who are clients of the Refugee Health Service and from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. This is an autonomous role, working alongside a passionate and award-winning multidisciplinary team, providing the best of care as refugees start a new life in regional NSW.
