Aquinas College is a K-12 Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition servicing in excess of 1,300 local, country and international boys. Aquinas College has a rich history within Western Australia education and a reputation of producing outstanding young men.We are seeking a passionate, dynamic and innovative Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) Teacher with demonstrated success in teaching ATAR Politics & Law and a strong general content knowledge for Years 7 -10. Experience in other Humanities learning areas would also be advantageous. This role forms part of an inclusive, supportive and high performing team, within a values-based environment, reporting to the Head of Humanities and Social Sciences.This is an on-going, full-time opportunity to commence in Term 1, 2025.Position Purpose:To inspire boys to be the best they can be through effective teaching, learning and pastoral care.Successful Candidate CredentialsTo be successful in this role you will have the following credentials:Hold a tertiary qualification specific to the specialist area of education;Hold a current Teachers Registration Board (TRB) registration;Hold a current Working with Children Check card;Have or be prepared to obtain Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic school, or equivalent;Have or be prepared to undertake Mandatory Reporting training.Selection CriteriaTo be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:Significant demonstrated experience in teaching Politics & Law ATAR.Active support for the Edmund Rice Charism, Edmund Rice schooling, Catholic ethos and the College Mission;Collaborative leadership experience gained within the education sector;Comprehensive understanding of current educational issues including Australian Curriculum and WACE courses;Exemplary classroom practice, delivering education content with a commitment to teaching excellence;Advanced knowledge and experience using Information Technology in the classroom;Significant experience delivering educational vision with a strong sense of purpose, consistent with the College Mission;Significant experience and knowledge of boys education philosophies;Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling harmonious and effective relationships;Strong communication, organisation and time management skills;A demonstrated understanding of child safety, legal obligations and appropriate child safe behaviours;Demonstrated suitability to engage in child-connected work.Further information about this role is available in the Position Description.Employment Conditions and Benefits:Aquinas College provides a supportive, inclusive, stimulating and spiritual work environment, with access to outstanding facilities and resources to enable academic excellence, in a beautiful setting overlooking the Canning River.
