Role and Responsibilities:

As a Commerce/Humanities teacher at Toorak College you will:

Champion Global Awareness: Guide students in exploring the interconnectedness of cultures, societies, and human experiences across the globe.

Inspire Critical Thought: Engage students in thought-provoking discussions that challenge assumptions and encourage them to question, empathize, and form their own perspectives.

Navigate Social Issues: Facilitate conversations about contemporary social issues, equipping students with the skills to become informed, compassionate, and active citizens.

Cultivate Effective Communication: Foster strong written and verbal communication skills, empowering students to express their ideas with clarity and confidence.

You effortlessly adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Experience teaching International students within the mainstream classroom is considered advantageous, as is knowledge and experience teaching VCE Business Management and/or VCE Legal Studies.

You enjoy working in a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and academic excellence. 

Specific classes and year levels taught will be determined according to the candidates expertise, experience, and operational requirements.

This is a full time, fixed term position (6 month position) commencing in Term 3 until the end of the 2024 School year.

Qualifications and Requirements: Degree qualified in Education, Humanities, Commerce, Business, Social Sciences or a related field such as Law. Appropriate teaching qualifications and registration (VIT registration essential). Proven experience in teaching Commerce/Humanities to students across different age groups. Excellent communication skills and an ability to connect with students. A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practice. Why Choose Toorak College?
