MacKillop Catholic College, Mount PeterMacKillop Catholic College, a master-planned Prep to Year 12 College located in the growing southern corridor of Cairns, was established in 2016 with Prep-Year 3 classes. The College has developed progressively, adding additional year levels annually, and commenced secondary education in 2020 with Year 7, and the first Year 12 cohort graduating in 2025. About the RoleThe Human Resources (HR) Officer in this position is to provide a high level of administrative support in the application of the day-to-day operations and organisational procedures and policies across the College. Reporting directly to the Principal, the HR Officer will coordinate a wide variety of HR processes including recruitment, inductions, probations, appraisals, employee relations and other HR related matters to support the College Senior Leadership Team and all staff of MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter.
The position plays a key part in the smooth and efficient running of the College by providing a focus on continuous improvement. The role holder is required to demonstrate a high level of initiative with an in-depth knowledge and competency of a variety of routines, methods, procedures and processes associated with the position. Significant discretion, judgment and a high level of confidentiality is required.
The position works mostly independently and with very minimal supervision and liaises broadly across all levels of the College on behalf of the Principal and with external parties, including key stakeholders from CES and the community.
