About the role
The Human Resources Officer is a full-time position based in Townsville, reporting to the People & Culture Manager. They will be required to coordinate HR activities across selectability's footprint and are integral in supporting managers and other employees throughout this footprint.
Main Duties:
Recruitment, including:
Placement of job adverts
Candidate screening
Coordinating interviews
Guiding new starters through the onboarding process
Preparing employment contracts
Coordinating performance reviews
Exiting employees
Ensuring human resource compliance requirements are met
Managing employee learning and competencies
Providing support to leaders in performance management matters
Managing grievances in a fair process
About you
You will bring to the role:
Minimum 3 years experience in human resources
Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation
Experience in community mental health, NDIS, aged care or child safety is highly desirable
Be extremely organised and efficient with an eye for detail
Have well-rounded administrative skills and experience
Respect and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
Have excellent interpersonal skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience in having difficult conversations
Proficient in Microsoft Office suites of programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
Demonstrated experience in databases, experience in TRACCS and PageUp would be highly desirable
Have a genuine interest in progressing your career in human resources
Qualifications:
Cert IV in Human Resources or above would be highly desirable, a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencing), a current yellow card exemption or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement), NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module which takes 1 to 1 ½ hours to complete)
