Cairns, Queensland 4870, Australia • Part-timeDescriptionHuman Resources Officer (Identified)1x Part-time (0.8 FTE) permanent position, based in CairnsFlexibility available with days and hoursSalary: $36.40 per hour'Keeping Our Generations Growing Strong'Wuchopperen is a Community Controlled Aboriginal Health Organisation providing holistic health care services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Cairns.Benefits of working with Wuchopperen:Competitive Salary + 12% Super + Salary Sacrifice (up to $15,899 for tax free benefits and $2,650 p/a for entertainment benefits).5 weeks annual leave and 15 days personal leave pro rata.Commitment to professional development.EAP for employees and family members.About the role:The position of HR Officer is responsible for the provision of highly efficient professional recruitment and other administrative duties, alongside people engagement that supports the operations of the HR Team.The HR Officer is supervised by the Manager, HR and the position has no supervisory responsibilities.The position works closely with other members of the HR Team, Program Managers, and employees across the organisation, and maintains regular contact with other program staff to ensure effective outcomes for clients.Key responsibilities:Provide high level, accurate, and confidential support to complete operational HR functions.Provide high quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, in a timely and professional manner.Maintain confidential and accurate, real-time records and statistics, providing data reports as required.Complete day-to-day generalist HR tasks, and end to end recruitment processes in accordance with business and funding requirements across multiple roles and programs.Provide support in preparation of contracts, contract variations, respond to queries via the HR inbox, and maintain HR files.Assist with the co-ordination of HR projects and events, and co-ordinate the induction, on-boarding, and off-boarding processes for employees.Manage compliance and training registers and assist in preparation of internal and external audit requests.Maintain up to date information within the Human Resource Information System and provide additional administration support in the implementation of any additional system add-ons.Work within Wuchopperen's Policies and Procedures including the Staff Code of Conduct and the Work Health and Safety requirements, contributing to continuous improvement processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards, and safe, effective service delivery.Other duties as required, within your skills, experience, and capacity.For applicants to be successful in this role, they should demonstrate:Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures from an historical and contemporary perspective, including the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Demonstrated ability to work independently, use initiative and prior experience of maintaining a Human Resource Information System for data entry and reporting purposes.Extensively developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders as well as effectively advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision in a multi-disciplinary team environment, prioritise and meet deadlines, deal with matters of a sensitive and confidential nature and meet organisational demands.Demonstrated ability to meet and work within the core values and behaviours of Wuchopperen.Qualifications and experience:A qualification (or working towards) in Human Resources and/or experience in a generalist Human Resources role.Requirements:Hold a current Blue Card (for suitability to work with children and young people).Proof of qualifications is required to be provided prior to the commencement of duty.Possess a current driver's licence.A commitment to adhere to Wuchopperen's policies and procedures.Applicants who do not address these requirements, will not be considered for shortlisting.Note: Revised legislation requires applicants to hold a blue card prior to commencement.
