Our Story: The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) has been dedicated to caring for the Broome community for over 40 years. Established in 1978 as the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia, BRAMS provides comprehensive, culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to local Aboriginal people. With a team of experienced health professionals, including Aboriginal Health Workers, GPs, Nurses, Psychologists, and more, BRAMS is committed to improving health outcomes in our community through collaborative efforts.  How You'll Make a Difference: We are now looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager based in Broome, Western Australia. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, is accountable for the management of HR processes, policy development, talent attraction, and retention, as well as fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing and coordinating all human resources processes and administration Developing, updating, and implementing relevant people and culture policies Collaborating with external employment lawyers to ensure compliance with employment law Leading talent attraction and retention efforts Developing and implementing employee engagement, learning, and development programs Overseeing the performance appraisal process Driving and maintaining a transparent and positive organisational culture Managing BRAMS' Work Health and Safety Program What You'll Bring to the Team: To qualify, you will need a minimum of 3 years experience in a People and Culture or HR management role within a community services context. While not essential, prior experience in a remote or Aboriginal community will be held in high regard.  Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued: Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices Experience managing employee relations matters Excellent planning and organisational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to show initiative and make sound decisions As our ideal candidate, you will be the perfect cultural fit if you possess a flexible mindset along with empathy, integrity and respect.
