We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Coordinator. Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) has been operating since 1970 and works to deliver wellbeing and self-determination for all Ngarliyarndu (Aboriginal people associated with Roebourne and the coastal Pilbara).
NBAC is owned by Aboriginal people of our local community and guided by a board of local Aboriginal elders from various language groups.
All NBAC efforts are focused on local solutions for local people.
NBAC's commercial subsidiaries, Brida Pty Ltd and Handy Hands, are award-winning and 100% Aboriginal owned.
They lead social enterprise service standards and have secured multi-year commercial contracts with the local industry partners.
About the Role This exciting role will afford you the rare opportunity to shape our HR functions into best practice! This position reports through to the Corporate Services Manager.
You will lead your team to success and will be the HR focal point for the business providing proactive, timely, accurate and professional HR support.
You won't be alone though!
You will be supported by two Recruitment Officers.
As a true HR generalist, you will contribute and be involved in projects that enhance our service delivery effectiveness.
The role requirements are broad and wide-ranging.
Some of the key functions are:
Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and programs supporting the organisations objectivesCollaborate with senior management to align HR initiatives with business objectivesProvide advice and coaching regarding policy interpretation as requiredAssist and undertake employee investigations as required and manage appropriatelySupport managers in identifying staffing needs, succession planning and talent development activitiesUndertake research and analysis to create HR metricsOversee the recruitment and selection processEnsure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain up to date knowledge of legal requirementsOversee the preparation and submission of HR reports and compliance related documentationProvide leadership, guidance and mentorship to the HR teamFoster a culture of continuous learning and development within the HR departmentAbout the Person NBAC is a passionate organisation and strives to improve the lives of its employees and the wider Karratha community.

The ideal candidate will have: Previous HR experienceTertiary qualifications in HR or a relevant fieldIntermediate computer and administration skillsProcess driven with the discipline to start and finish projectsAbility to analyse business needs and put plans in place to close the gapsFlexibility and enthusiasm about making positive changeExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenThe ability to engage and influence effectively and respectfullyAs we are a Not for Profit you also have access to Salary packaging of up to $30,000.
