Townsville University Hospital , located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.
The Human Resources Business Partnering team are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join their team on a fixed term temporary full-time basis, for up to six (6) months. The Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.

The role is accountable to the Director HR Business Partnering for strategic and integrated delivery of HR Business Partnering services within an allocated business portfolio. As a HR Business Partner, the role works in partnership with senior line management to align and drive all people and culture strategies, initiatives and interventions required by the enabling Strategic Workforce Plan to achieve business objectives and targets. The role acts as a consultant to senior line management and manages escalated complex HR matters arising from the HR Hub, interacting with specialist support teams such as workforce planning and analytics, industrial relations, capability development and health, safety and wellness to facilitate an integrated and timely outcome.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Demonstrates business acumen gained within a large complex organisation. Influences and builds positive and effective business relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to coach and mentor developing and established leaders within service group portfolio. Decisiveness and fortitude when confronted with complexity and deadlines. Plans and prioritises work to meet organisational outcomes within deadlines. Demonstrated talent management acumen to address talent challenges. Uses insight and makes effective data and evidence-based judgements. Solves HR problems strategically and innovatively. Leverages networks to achieve outcomes. Proficient in contemporary workplace legislation, industrial awards and application of same to complex HR and workforce matters. Resolves complex conflicts and disputes in a timely manner. Manages risk and applies risk management processes. Manages business portfolio ethically and with professional integrity. What's on offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $12,360 p.m. comprising: Salary range of $4651.70 to $4982.80 p.f. (AO6) 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Role Requirements: Possession of a tertiary qualification at AQF 7 (Degree) or above in a human resource, business or organisational studies field or demonstrable equivalent HR experience built progressively over at least a 5 year period would be highly regarded. Professional membership of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) would be highly regarded. Possession of class C drivers' licence. Probation period may apply.
