Job DescriptionPrimary purpose of the role
This is a contract position to 31 March 2026.
The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic and process related HR advice to leaders and employees within Disaster Relief Australia (DRA). This role will support the implementation of a range of HR projects, processes and procedures. It will identify opportunities, informed by engaging with employees and analysing key data, that contribute to the continual improvement of the HR function which in turn will support improvement across DRA.
Key accountabilities
The key accountabilities of the role include:
Supporting the HR Manager in providing technical HR advice and information to executives, managers and employees within DRA.
Working in partnership with managers and employees to implement effective organisational change, particularly relating to DRA's HR Management System, ELMO.
Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of performance appraisal and employee learning and development processes.
Working with managers to identify specific organisational needs or challenges and making informed recommendations on opportunities / initiatives / action to address them.
Supporting the implementation of HR policies and procedures across DRA.
Providing advice and support to help identify talent gaps and facilitate professional development opportunities for employees.
Supporting the resolution of a range of employee and volunteer matters, which may include conflict resolution, incident investigations or assessments and grievance handling.
Supporting the continual development of HR data metrics and then using this data to identify opportunities that continuously improve HR process and employee engagement.
Responding to HR related employee queries in a timely manner, including escalating and redirecting matters as required so that accurate and consistent information is provided.
The drafting of relevant processes and procedures as required.
Supporting the HR Manager in identifying potential risks, issues and opportunities relating to organisational legal and regulatory requirements.
Other duties and taskings as required by the HR Manager.
Delivering the key accountabilities of the role at a time of considerable organisation growth and change. This position requires accuracy and attention to detail in an environment where there can be multiple competing priorities.
