Your Opportunity As the Human Resource Advisor, you will: Be responsible for contributing to the delivery of cost efficient, high quality and client responsive human resource services to regional staff.
This position reports to the Manager, Human Resource Operations.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, for 12 months (with the possibility of extension) unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at the Cairns or Townsville - Pimlico campus; however, you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities Provide quality, solution-oriented services and advice to TAFE Queensland North managers and staff on a range of human resource issues including: Interpretation and updates to human resource management related legislation, award conditions, directives and policies Recruitment and selection Establishment management Human Resource operational procedures/policies and delegations Human Resource Information Systems management and procedures Staff training and professional development policies and procedures Extract and manipulate human resource management data and provide regular reports on the performance of a range of human resource administration functions and activities to assist managers in their business operations.
Utilise a range of computer software packages in the production of reports, briefing notes, email communications and general written correspondence.
Develop and update role descriptions in consultation with key stakeholders and arrange job analysis questionnaires, Job Evaluation Management System (JEMS) evaluation and related processes.
Manage multiple and conflicting priorities, meet set deadlines and have a high level of attention to detail in performance of work tasks.
Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions.
Process Request to Hire and Hiring Manager applications and provide on-site/phone support to clients utilising ARO.
Co-ordinate and actively participate in the processing of employee commencements in Aurion, including Establishment management activities, and the distribution of appointment documentation.
Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
Provide advice and assistance to internal and external clients for recruitment related issues and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders.
Provide ongoing maintenance of recruitment checklists and work instructions.
Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.
How you will be assessed Within the context of the role description above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Demonstrates a sound knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices through interpretation of legislation, policies and procedures.
Demonstrated administration expertise, encompassing the ability to define tasks, prioritise effectively, and coordinate activities to successfully meet competing deadlines.
Demonstrates sound research, analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to develop options and solutions to meet human resource management needs.
Demonstrates competence in the operation of computerised systems and demonstrated ability to manipulate data to draw and analyse reports as requested.
Displays well developed interpersonal, oral and written communication, negotiation and consultation skills including the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships to contribute effectively to team activities and achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes.
