The Opportunity As the Human Resources Administration Officer you'll work alongside our HR Business Partners, L&D, Payroll, RTW and Recruitment Officers and the HR Coordinator to complete administrative work for the department.
In your role, you will optimise our employee experience while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include: Performing accurate and timely data entry Administering and maintaining various HR systems Providing high quality customer service to Council's internal and external customers Creating purchase orders and actioning invoices Assisting with the administration of recruitment, including advertising, scheduling interviews, candidate customer service, onboarding and induction This is a full time, limited tenure position until 15 May 2026.
You'll be based in Bairnsdale, with the option to work from our other sites and 2 days per week from home.
Things You're Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria) Experience in human resources administration / or administration.
Highly developed administration skills using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and numeracy.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
Ability to interpret the East Gippsland Shire Council Enterprise agreement and employment law legislation.
Ability to work cooperatively and positively in a sensitive and confidential manner.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Ability to work from home If successful, you will need to undertake a police check.
You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
