Your responsibilities will include: About the Program: LMA has entered into an arrangement with BAE, Saab and CoA (MIWS) for the execution of all Combat System Integration work related to the Aegis Surface Combatant fleet.
The agreement, called the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement or CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1).
The CSI-IPT evolves the current independently executing programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 under an umbrella enterprise organisation formed as a program of programs.
The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from LMA, BAE, Saab and the CoA to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.
The CSI-IPT is engaging each organisation to offer candidates for roles from their existing staff and will select from the pool of candidates provided across all organisations.
The CSI-IPT will select candidates on a best-for-enterprise basis, taking into account the need to maintain a balance across all organisations.
About the Role: The Human Factors Specialist will support the Human Systems Integration (HSI) Lead and the larger engineering team in the conduct of HSI activities for the project.
Your responsibilities will include: Conducting anthropometric analysis and associated task analysis to determine the suitability of compartment arrangements Preparation of technical documentation and reports to communicate HSI analysis outcomes and design guidance Provide consultation to shape the development of new HSI engineering tools for use on the program Support the wider Combat Systems engineering team with the preparation of design review artefacts and HSI related requirements development for Combat System Specifications You may also be tasked with developing 3D assets and blueprints for the AWD control room virtual model About you: To be successful in this role you will have: Tertiary education qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution and/or relevant experience within the Defence sector Good understanding of Human Systems Integration activities Experience in anthropometric analysis Understanding of existing and emerging engineering industry capabilities Complete understanding of principles, theories and concepts and ability to apply these to provide solutions to a wide range of problems Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail Strong communication skills, and the ability to produce, analyse, and interpret highly complex reports and management information Experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment (preferably within the defence industry) Excellent learning aptitude with a willingness to constantly update knowledge in a dynamic environment An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information.
