We are currently seeking a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Officer with experience in the Civil Construction Industry.
The successful applicant will report to and work closely with the HSEQ Manager and be responsible for assisting to maintain a high standard of health, safety, environmental and risk management processes within TRN Group.
This is a hands-on role which will see the successful applicant working across all TRN Group project sites and actively implementing continuous improvements relating to health and safety.
Your responsibilities will include: Acting as a company representative on all matters relating to WHS Proactively assisting departments in implementing and embedding their health and safety work plans Supporting the HSEQ Manager to ensure the Safety Management System delivers a consistent approach to ensure government legislative requirements are met Promoting WHS within TRN Group and assisting in developing safer and healthier ways of working Assisting in implementing a programmed approach to regular workplace audits, workplace inspections, hazard/near miss reporting and risk assessments, ensuring that identified risk control measures are recorded and acted on in a timely manner Inspecting workplaces and workplace practices, such as trenching, and ensuring they meet safety regulations and identify hazards and risks Assisting in the identification and facilitation of strategies and programs to mitigate claims potentials and improve the safety of staff Assisting in collating illness/injury and incidents reports and collating related statistics to the CEO and General Manager Assisting in investigating illness/injury and incidents as noted on the above report and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrences Assisting sites with their environmental controls and assisting the HSEQ Manager in the planning and procedure of environmental controls.

To be successful you must have: Experience in a HSEQ Officer role (5 years preferred) Qualifications in WHS and/or Environmental (preferred) WHS General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) Current NSW Driver's Licence Experience within the civil construction industry would be an advantage Ability to coordinate and develop Health and Safety policies and procedures Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong administrative skills Demonstrated organisational abilities and time management skills Ability to work autonomously and as a team Ability to communicate with clients at all levels A practical common-sense approach to all tasks undertaken This is a great opportunity to work close to home and be part a workplace that has a supportive and collaborative work culture.
