HSEQ Director - 262381 We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?
The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes: 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount IsaUp to six new substation sitesThe Opportunity As a Senior member of the project leadership team, the purpose of the HSEQ Director is to lead, implement and control HSEQ Management requirements, strategies and initiatives across the project and report progress to the Project Director and UGL Management Teams.
Key Responsibilities Establish and implement strategies to:
Attract and retain HSEQ Talent throughout the project lifecycle, including resource planning, talent development, recruitment, and management of remuneration strategies in consultation with P&C.Coach and mentor the Project Leadership Team and HSEQ Team to achieve required HSEQ outcomes.Manage subcontractor HSEQ requirements throughout the project lifecycle, integrating with procurement and other relevant teams.Enable effective implementation of UGL's Critical Risk Controls, including performance monitoring.Develop and implement a robust Quality Assurance and Control program for the Project including the development of QA systems, documentation control, and other processes as required.About You 10+ years in a senior leadership role within a major construction environment or heavy industry.
Linear geographically dispersed infrastructure project experience considered an advantage.Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders at different levels both internally and externally.Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.Major multidiscipline construction project experience including development and implementation of plans, mobilization readiness, onboarding of personnel and equipment, on site system set up, facilities management, camp accommodation management and emergency response capability.Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
