As a result, we are seeking an accomplished HSEQ Advisor to work in the HSEQ team based in Bunbury.
Reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent, this full-time role is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a great team, with a focus on assisting with the improvement of the HSEQ performance in the region.
Working closely with the HSEQ Superintendent, you will be responsible for facilitating the company and client-specific safety initiatives within the branch and drive compliance with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
The successful applicant will be required to:
Monitor local area compliance with HSEQ policy and procedures and report to the appropriate Branch Manager(s) in the first instance and the HSEQ Superintendent.
Conduct periodic site inspections on all sites, record outcomes into HSEQ Management System and report back to HSEQ Superintendent and/or Manager as required.
Conduct internal audits on branch systems to ensure compliance with legislation, client expectations and company HSEQ standards.
Assist in the development & implementation of company HSEQ procedures at a branch level.
Conduct HSEQ Audits as per the HSEQ Assurance schedule.
Monitor the implementation of Corrective Actions generated from incidents, audits, inspections, etc.
Chair and minute the monthly safety committee meetings and review the completion of associated action items.
Chair site risk register review and development meetings as per schedule.
Review hazards, safety observations, site JHA's, Take 5 and other risk minimisation outputs as required.
Conduct safety observations in line with the HSEQ Advisor's commitments.
Coordinate and conduct random or causal drug testing across sites.
Regularly attend operational site(s) for risk assessment, inspection, hazard identification and general workplace safety initiatives.
Provide assistance to supervisors and managers on reporting and investigating incidents, injuries and hazards.
Chair ICAM investigations in collaboration with the relevant Manager(s).
Review incident data within HSEQ Management System to ensure effective entry and management.
Ensure all documents developed by the HSEQ Advisor meet the minimum document control expectations, formatting standards and document control process.
Review the content of operational documents for the inclusion of safe systems of work, as required.
Develop and strengthen relationships with managers and employees across all branches.
Promote HSEQ awareness throughout the branch.
Provide support to the HSEQ Superintendent.
Other duties as directed by the HSEQ Superintendent.
Skills and Experience:
Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety (or equivalent qualification).
A minimum of 5 years previous experience in a similar role.
Valid C Class WA Drivers Licence.
ICAM Training.
Drug and Alcohol Testing Training.
Extensive knowledge of HSEQ management systems.
Demonstrated ability as a Safety Practitioner.
Strong working knowledge of safety legislation and its application.
Good organisational, analytical skills and computer skills.
Good knowledge of OHS (ISO45001), QA (ISO9001) and Environmental (ISO14001) management systems.
Sound knowledge of the transport industry.
