THE CLIENTOur client is a part of the Iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 project in Cooma.
They are a leading heavy mechanical engineering, services and contracting business operating throughout Australia and New Zealand in major capital cities and regional locations.
They perform an integral role in the development of ANZ infrastructure across mining and resources, transport and power markets.
THE ROLEThe Site HSE Manager is responsible for development, implementation and promotion of a safe, accident-free and healthy work environment for the electrical and mechanical scope (Turbine, Generator, BoPe, BoPm, Hydraulic steel structures) at the Snowy Hydro construction site, under consideration of relevant regulations, contract requirements, construction schedule and budgetary targets of the project.

reporting), certifications (ex.
ISO-OHSAS and possibly COR) and the company HSE Management System;Design and implement relevant HSE site-specific programs;Participate in work planning meetings to ensure HSE tasks are prepared in advance (e.g.
confined space assessment, platform installation, chemicals use, PPE, ventilation, heavy lifts etc.).
Identify bottlenecks proactively and provide solutions;Act as the subject matter expert for all health, safety and environmental site issues;Perform site audits and inspections;Supervise HSE team members & be a coach to the project team and provide or arrange training at site when necessary.ABOUT YOU University educational background in Health and Safety or related domain;Strong experience on Power Plant construction projects, heavy infrastructure or in the oil and gas sector or heavy construction projects;Possess a thorough understanding of local and provincial regulations of Australia/New South Wales as well as federal regulations, including Workplace Relations Management and Heavy Vehicles National Laws.BENEFITS Leave your mark on one of Australia's largest historical and most Iconic Snowy Hydro project;Feel the reward of being able to develop programs, planning and procedures that you will be able to see through to completion;Get experience across a highly complex project that will accelerate your career progression and professional development.PROJECT INFORMATIONSnowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped hydro project is well underway.
