Wood is currently recruiting for a HSE Manager to join our Operations division, supporting the Australian East Coast region, which encompasses a varied portfolio of contracts across several industries in Eastern Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.
Reporting to the Vice President of HSSES for APAC Operations, this role is a full-time permanent position preferably based in Melbourne (primarily) or Brisbane.
Responsibilities Provide appropriate HSE leadership including compliance with travel, site and office safety requirementsDevelop and maintain productive, collaborative relationships of trust within and across projects, offices, and regionAn influential team member who provides positive leadership to influence team culture and the working environmentAccountable for the day-to-day running of the local APAC East HSE project teamResponsible for coaching and mentoring the workforce, specifically around safe behaviorsFocus on delivery elements and implementation of HSE policies and practicesMonitor integration of health and safety programmes including hazard and risk identification, incident reporting and investigation, employee health and well-being, environmental hygiene and organisational transformationDevelop and direct HSE programs and training initiatives to continuously improve the safety culture of all employees working within the assignmentLead Behavioural Change Management strategy implementation using the Wood Tools and deliver change across the assignmentEnsure contract compliance with ISO certification requirements and facilitate audit requirements as per the regional requirementsRecord, report and analyze HSE performance metrics including both leading and lagging indicatorsQualifications Bachelor's degree in HSE / WHS / OHS (preferred), or Australian Diploma, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent6 years + of relevant HSE experience, predominantly within the oil and gas industryProven delivery of HSE programs that positively and pragmatically influence safety cultureIn-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standardsExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence & engage stakeholders at all levelsStrong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations & recommend practical solutionsCandidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
